Dalton McAllen was one of the few African-American farmers who had managed to hang onto the family farm. After twenty-three years, a wife, twin sons, and a divorce, he was a bitter man. He lived like a monk for two years, then his old pal, lonely, drove him to look for a woman. In a rough nightspot he met beautiful, sassy-looking businesswoman Julie Horne. Resort owner Julie Horne had secrets that were too shameful to talk about. Friends tricked her into going with them to the worst nightspot in the area. She met a bitter man who didn’t ask her name, didn’t bother to tell her his name, treated her like a prostitute, and told her not to be a bitch about it when she was insulted. She promised him that before the night was over she would show him what a bitch was.
