About This Book

Erik a Bavarian knight leads a party over the mountains in winter to rescue returning Crusaders
The war in Egypt has ended. A Crusader army is stranded on the Adriatic coast with many wounded. Erik, a young Bavarian knight, leads a rescue party over the Alps. They must cross Dalmatia and bring aid to the survivors.
Hungarian conspiracy draws Seljuk raiders into the territory. Erik's caravan must, at all cost, avoid the invaders and get their supplies and people through.
As Erik's band approaches the coast the Seljuks, notorious for lightning cavalry strikes, establish a Dalmatian foothold and are reinforced by the Turkish Sultan's formidable army of Mamluk slave soldiers.
Later in time history will reveal that opposing forces, Muslim and Christian, are destined to meet in an Epic battle that will determine Europe's future.
