The Campaign

Campaign fever is in the air ... and Robert Hawkins Grant is a shoe-in for reelection to the Senate. Grant, a conservative from Georgia, is a strong favorite in the next presidential race, on track to being the first black president of the United States. But nine days before the senatorial election, a reporter who had been publicly dogging him is murdered. Evidence points to Grant, and too many people are quick to believe the worst. The ensuing investigation sets in motion a chain of events that threaten his personal and professional future. New accusations surface, each more damaging than the last. Racial tensions are swirling around Grant, corruption has spread to his own staff, and the media has made him a target. Grant must clear his name, solve a murder, exonerate his son of trumped-up drug charges, and expose the White House corruption while maintaining his integrity and keeping himself in the race ... and time is running out.
