About This Book

THE BUFFALO COWBOY FROM ATLANTA is an unusual action/adventure story set in modern times in Montana. An African-American man in Atlanta, Georgia dreams of owning a ranch in the west. With degrees from The Virginia School of Mines and an MBA from Harvard, he makes a six figure salary, AND HATES IT. One day he is staring out his office window daydreaming about a horse ranch in Montana when he stops, takes a deep breath and says, "why not," types up his resignation and starts looking for land in Montana. A giant grizzly BEAR the rancher's call WIDOWMAKER complicates things by killing some of his sheep and even some calves., Widowmaker has terrorized the ranchers, killing two men, as well as multiple raids on sheep, cattle, and even horses, killing indiscriminately. Emery pursues the great horse into his area of refuge in Bluebird Valley but is attacked twice by Widowmaker. The crazed grizzly kills Emery's pack mule and destroys everything in the camp while Emery and young Mexican friend, Mateo, are out searching for Black Fury. Local banker, Luke Austin, is determined to ruin Emery Perry and take his ranch...and is willing, not only to kill a horse, but is willing to pay to have Emery murdered. Austin simply say's "Your kind don't belong here." With Austin's men trying to kill him and being stalked by Widowmaker, it's all Emery and Mateo can do to survive long enough to spoil Austin's plans. Emery has to save his ranch for his future, and the future of his girlfriend, the lovely crusader for animal rights, RENESSA RUFFIN. But first, he has to convince her that he does not capture mustangs and sell them to the Federal Government or to the dog food industry. Set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Montana.
