About This Book

A young boy who understands and speaks animal languages defends his sleeping Grandpa from the bees' unjust label of this "human drone."The bees ask him to tell them what his farmer Grandpa fed the animals he kept on his farm. The boy agrees and his narrative becomes a guessing game between the boy and the bees (and by extension, optionally, between the reader and the child who is listening). The boy tells the bees about the feeding of different farm animals and other chores his grandparents did on their farm. The bees promise abundant honey for his Grandpa and Grandma as a reward. The story contains a lesson: "do not judge people by appearances." Attached are pages of suggestions on how to read with youngsters, and advanced vocabulary explanations. This book can be read in sections, each relating to specific featured animal group. It is a valuable asset for early readers' vocabulary acquisition.
