About This Book

A mystery novel that has its beginning in the age of Alexander the Great--specifically in the legend of a jewel-coverd casket used by Alexander to store his treasured copy of Homer's Iliad. Opening in Constantinople in the year 1204, it leapfrogs to contemporary Ireland where the box is discovered in the tomb of Crusader Count Odo deLacy. The news of the discovery peaks the interest and greed of a number of shady and ruthless antique dealers who stop at nothing to come into possession of this prized object. The box disappears. Fortunately, a former Navy SEAL, Dr. Peete, assistant to renown antiquities scholar and dealer Dr. Charlotte Benedict of Gloucester County, Virginia, is called on to help retrieve the artifact and keep it from falling into the wrong hands. Twisting and turning from one high tension incident to another the story makes it way to an equally dramatic conclusion.
