The new cub reporter thought that journalism was a serious calling. That soon disappeared when he met his new colleagues. As he tried to remember Walter's ever-expanding list of rules for surviving the job (and life) he was introduced to Chris and his equally expanding list of ladies. Then there was the friendly cynical intellectual Matthew (always with a glass in hand) and the larger-than-life Paul who seemed to have been everywhere, seen everything, and written about it. He somehow worked his way through council meetings, court cases (one with a very surprising outcome), a by-election, a horoscope that wasn't, and an unexpected personal role in a beauty contest. Thankfully there was always the pub. A comic look at life on a local newspaper where nothing is what it seems and nobody should be taken too seriously.
