Tale of a Traveler

As the navigator of a buccaneer crew, I'd traveled the seas and experienced the cultures, foods, and women of many different lands with pockets full of plundered gold. Living free and being rich, I hadn't considered what that was truly worth until the day I lost everything. Surviving my self-inflicted destitution by sweating out an honest trade, I fell for a good woman who saw me as more than a man who lived an adventurous life among the lawless. Her view of me caused me to look deeper into myself, and allowed me to see that there's more treasure in a life of piracy than wenches and gold alone. I was a world traveling artist of the seas. But no matter how enchanting the love of a good woman could be, the sea was my first love, and my tales would always be that of a traveler. -Sterling Bentley-
