      A ghostly presence inhabits Sylar Hill's old house and the hillside behind RJ Miller's house. Ghosts are seen and heard at night, but no one except RJ sees them. His parents think the ghosts are merely RJ's daydreams, but they are not. RJ and his dog, Rusty, barely escape with their lives one evening. RJ's curiosity is greater than his fear, and he continues to explore Sylar Hill. His two friends become too afraid to climb the hill with him, so he and Rusty continue alone. To make matters worse, the Miller family is planning to move to Kansas City, which makes RJ extremely unhappy. He finally agrees to a visit with his grandparents in Iowa, and there finds a super, fantastic surprise. Upon returning home, he goes up the hill one more time before the move and meets the ghost head-on!
