Cold, but ever bustling New York City in winter contrasts sharply with the sometimes snow-scaped rural winter wonderland that is the Valley, and the mountains that form it. Geist can't be in both places. New York's where Sonia is, but the Valley is where his clients and a newfound tight circle of friends are. He buys into Piper's passion, identifies with the target population at the core of her work, and that's what motivates him to push hard to make the help that she has to offer be accessible to as many people as possible.
