Lee saves the life of a gregarious Wyoming trapper, and he decides to travel from Philadelphia to St. Louis with his newfound friend and the man's Indian partner. During his adventurous travel west, Lee finds love, but he is soon swept out beyond the Yellowstone into a vengeful and desperate clash between the Crow and Blackfeet Indians.
