The Ealothian Family, a once scattered people gifted with psychic powers, has become one of the most influential and powerful people in the galaxy. Many people, however, fear and hate them.Seeking refuge from increasingly violent persecution the Family decide to form an alliance with the Avoyelles Empire. Because Avoyelles boasts a large psychic population it seemingly offers the Family a safe haven. In exchange The Family agrees to launch their mercenary fleet against the Empires long-time enemy, the Cassasians, who are setting up for an all-out assault.The deal is sealed with a marriage between Princess Anna of Avoyelles and Jessup, the crown prince of the Ealothian Family.
