      At the age of sixteen, naive Robert Birkett left his parents' farm in the Cumberland hills of northern England to follow the river to the sea with his father's bitter words still ringing in his ears. Before long, his naivety would almost cost him his life. Having nothing to lose, he joins the Stemsi, hoping that time would heal the rift with his father.
