About This Book

Samsara is a thrilling tale of love and violence set in post-World War II Hong Kong. Nick Ridley, an orphan raised in California, joins the Royal Air Force at the outbreak of the war. After being assigned to the Malaysian campaign, he is captured by Japanese forces and sent to the infamous prisoner-of-war camp, Changi, where he survives barbarous treatment at the hands of camp commandant Col. Tetsuro Matashima.

After rehabilitation in a Philippine hospital, Nick moves to Hong Kong to begin his life again. There, he purchases several U.S. Army surplus C-47's and builds Cathay Airlines into a world-class company. On the eve of Cathay Airlines being recognized as the Crown Colony's official carrier, Nick's world begins to unravel. People begin to die, and Nick is pulled into the quagmire. When Courtney, the love of his life, is kidnapped, Nick finds he must once again face the man responsible for the horrors of Changi.

Samsara is a mesmerizing book that, once opened, is impossible to put down. Lewis has once again proven himself to be a master of the international thriller. Other books by John Hamilton Lewis -- Basha, Opal Eye Devil.
