About This Book

May 1992 and the siege of Sarajevo by Bosnian Serbs has begun. Dragos Miloslav is one of the thousands of people of Serb descent who refused to flee their homes and be "liberated" by others who claimed to fight in their name. Dragos, however, will not have to fear the sniper's shot as he is walking down the street. He will not suffer from malnutrition brought on by lack of food and water. He will no longer search the streets for his missing kin. He will no longer pray to wake up in the morning. For Dragos is already dead. The number of ghosts in Sarajevo, people whose lives were tragically cut short, grows greater every day. Dragos knows he can no longer aid his living Sarajevan comrades. But he can ease the passage of the unjustly slain souls as they enter the afterlife, for even in death there are those who will torment the innocent.
