About This Book

Ride the Lonesome Wind is the continuing saga of the life and times of Bolt Ashton, a Tennessean who makes his home on the Great Plains of Eastern Montana. Bolt rides alongside his irreverent, shotgun-toting, old saddle partner, Eb Monday, and the rest of the cowboys from the Lonesome Wind Ranch to face danger and the constant struggle for life and love on the Montana frontier in the 1870s. The Bunch from the Lonesome Wind battle an overwhelming force to protect the women and children they love, with the help of Miles Ashton, Bolt's younger brother, and Tennessee sheriff turned U.S. Marshal, Sam Boston. There are strong Native American characters like the Cherokee philosopher Isaiah Little Wolf, the diminutive but fierce Prairie Dog, proud Grey Eagle, and the indomitable Sioux Warrior, Black Elk, whose life and spirit seems perpetually connected to Bolt's through some powerful and mysterious force.
