About This Book
Book 3 introduces the main work: earlier writers, origins and parts of rhetoric (“the canonâ€) which includes: Invention, Disposition, Elocution, Memory, and Delivery. Book 4 explains the Parts of Forensic (often called Judicial) Causes which include: Proemia, Narrative, Digressions, Propositions, and Partitions. In Book 5 Quintilian deals with the subject of Proof, Refutations, technical and nontechnical proofs, and the handling of witnesses.
Educators, teachers of all levels, historians, writers, students of the law, speakers, public speakers, politicians, administrators, managers, and business executives, will find these discussions enlightening.
A well-rounded education should include the reading of all the books in Quintilian’s Institutio Oratoria
