About This Book
Happy Ending
"Have you learned how to do a script yet?" Appleseed asked when she came into his office.
"No," said Priscilla.
"Then I'll have to teach you. I'm not putting a single thing in front of the cameras before it's had your approval." Suddenly he sighed. "I wish you weren't such a good secretary."
"Why?"
Priscilla was astonished to see a dull flush mount to his cheeks. "I told you Thursday night," he muttered. "Don't you remember anything I say?"
"Don't worry about getting a secretary. I'll find you a replacement who'll be every bit as satisfactory as you think I am."
"You couldn't."
"You're letting your anxiety run away with you. I can get you a perfect secretary."
"Secretary be damned! Is that why you think I'm hanging on to you?"
Her mouth opened -- but no words came out.
