About This Book

Paula and Jake Baron lose two young sons in an auto accident. The tragedy and guilt felt by Jake magnifies their marriage problems. Pauls defends an accused and admitted murderer, but she believes the woman is not guilty of the crime. Jake is investigating a suspected terrorist and believes he has the option to do anything and break any law to catch a terrorist. His attitude further strangles the marriage because Paula is a liberal officer of the court. Paula discovers evidence that only a priest can support, but the secrecy of the confessional stands in the way. Jake is able to help Paula's case and she must consent to an illegal procedure. After Jake uncovers a conspiracy, Paula is kidnapped and Jake must try to save her by risking his life.
