Paper Clouds

The summer of 1967 brought with it crazy times and many changes in the United States. Protests against the Vietnam War, racial riots and the hippie movement were all in full swing. Maisy had just completed her third year at the prestigious Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and decided to remain in town for the summer despite her overbearing father's protests. When a handsome stranger suddenly appears at the café where she works, Maisy can't stop thinking about him until one day when they meet by chance outside of the café. It's not long before a deep love is formed between the two despite the differences in their heritage. Facing the lingering prejudice in the country, the Vietnam War and a wealthy father who will go to almost any extreme to tear them apart, Maisy and Francisco block out the world around them. Until . . . One day when Maisy receives the worst possible news. After believing her life was over and all was lost, she unexpectedly uncovers an inconceivable secret . . . and learns that it's always darkest just before dawn.
