Nothing Is Forever

In Brooklyn, New York, Bay Ridge's residents include people of various backgrounds, including Franky, an Italian-American from a close family. Franky adores his older sister, but the lack of common interests between him and his father leaves Franky without a strong male role model. Furthermore, Franky's mother, a devout Catholic, badgers him for not practicing his religion, but she doesn't know how he really feels about the Catholic Church. New trouble begins when a Muslim family moves to the block. Because of the tragedy of September 11, Franky and his friends believe these foreigners to be a very real threat to their relatively peaceful neighborhood. In a surprise move, Franky initiates a confrontation with the new Muslim neighbors, inciting police intervention and the entire neighborhood into an uproar. The severity of this incident forces the families to engage in dialogue in hope of calming the fears and prejudices of their children. But will there be peace or will the events ultimately lead to disaster?
