About This Book

This tale of Harlem takes place at a time when witches and mystical beings of all kinds, exist and rule in its underworld. In the midst of this, Johnny, a street character, finds and falls for a dancer named Marsha, much to the displeasure of her aunt the Evil Witch of 152nd Street. The two begin to meet secretly until the witch finds out and forbids it. He becomes dispirited and is drawn into the underworld where he is captured by a malevolent being. Marsha discovers where he is being held and rescues him. He confronts the witch and makes a bargain that requires him to capture the Great Skunk Fish. He manages to trap the fish but the capture exacts a toll. The witch reneges and Johnny looses Marsha again, blinded by a spell. He encounters a wizard who unlocks the spell and sends him into battle against the witch.
