While you do not have to read this latter, in whole or in parts, to make sense of the series and understand what will happen to Nick Klaus in future books, I strongly suggest that you read "Nick Klaus and the Room of the Lost Footsteps," before you proceed to the subsequent ones, and this for two reasons. First, the up-and-coming, "Nick Klaus and Tumbling Jumblelium," builds on elements introduced in "The Room of the Lost Footsteps," notably the premise for the entire series, which was first hinted at in the "Outmoded Landscape."
