"This is The Story. Not a story. The Story." Charlie Reese is fresh out of college when he goes to work for Harold Lightfoot, the billionaire owner of the world's leading parcel delivery service. Harold Lightfoot isn't just a billionaire though—he claims to be the Greek god Hermes, and along with two other gods in men's clothing (Aphrodite and Pan), Hermes wants Charlie to help him return the worship of the Greek pantheon to the modern world. But there are forces working against them, ancient monsters who have taken on the aspects of men, guided by a dark figure from forgotten mythology. In order to stay alive, Charlie will need to learn how to see the supernatural reality beneath the false skin of the world. In this Mythworld, he will learn the secret history of mankind, and discover that the messenger god's true goals may be a little more sinister than he let on.
