About This Book

This novel is a romance wherein young lovers have their lives so affected by a common tragedy, they spend years trying to recapture the magic and innocence of their college-life love affair. They are both enormously gifted musically. Evan Sherman plays piano, principally by ear, but his talent with the clarinet is so complete, he is considered something of a savant instrumentalist. Molly Sullivan is a stunningly beautiful young woman who has a five-octave voice the faculty members in the university voice department can hardly believe. They make wonderful music together while in college, and it seems to the people close to them that their only hope of salvaging what they have lost is the music they make while apart from each other.
