About This Book

Mario's is a crime novel set in modern day India. It is a disturbing yet compelling story of two families who meet in a holiday resort in Goa. One family is local and run a small restaurant and the other is from England. The Bridge family from England are visiting Goa for the first time and spend time on the beach and exploring the fascinating area. They have two children: Lottie, a girl of sixteen and David, a boy aged twelve. She is outwardly confident and a success whilst he is introverted and is always in her shadow. As the holiday progresses they meet the Goan family and make friends with the son Mario who has a taxi. He takes them out and Lottie develops a crush on him. A dreadful incident at the swimming pool brings the lazy days to a sudden halt and the whole world of both families is thrown into turmoil as the police are involved and the hunt is on for a paedophile on the run from the authorities in the UK. The book contains a wealth of information about life in Goa and explores in depth the relationships within and between the two families.
