These native people lived in a world by themselves and they didn't want their world to change, as they had lived thousands of years in their own way, and they had no idea the white man would come along and would want to change their way of life completely, and they would have to suffer in the process. They didn't want to mix or be divided in their poor lives, but they had no choice, but to do what they were told to do, and nothing would save them from disaster and most of all, death which came cheaply to them. As they looked at it, the process of their improvement would go on for a very long time, and they would really have to fight for their freedom. It would be a life to them without pity.
