Life in the south during the early 1900s wasn't easy. Life in the United States at that time wasn't easy. Life on a farm isn't easy at any time, but it can be satisfying and fun. This is a brief history of one family in the south during the late 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s, focusing on the oldest child who just happens to be a girl. Life is as good or as bad as you make it. True, others can and do influence our lives, but as the saying goes: "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." This story shows this family's recipe for making lemonade out of the lemons life hands them. If the whole country had handled the Great Depression the way this family did, maybe it wouldn't have been so depressing. Family does make a difference in our outlook on life. Faith in God, loving one another and having fun in life: the perfect recipe for a good life at any time.
