Liars' Tales Of True Love

Liars’ Tales of True Love is a post-modern love story that tells the oldest, and best, story of all: the story of Faulkner’s “trials and tribulations of the human heart.” It is the story of Andre, his son Andy, his best friend Eddie, their soul mate eighty-seven-year-old Lois, the young and spirited Ann, and their mentors Margaret and Harry who offer salve in tough times. These fascinatingly complex people are sometimes employed, sometimes homeless, young and elderly and middle-aged, and, just like us, face their demons down each day as they quest for love. The major characters love to read and thus form an illicit book club, living out the novels they read while on the run, seeking to find personal meaning in them, all the while struggling with real life tragedy and lost love, seeking elegiac triumph…just like us. This sometimes erotic novel reminds us that we are fully alive, each with his own deep stories to live and tell. As Lois says: “We are all of us the same, and…everything is on its way somewhere. Everything. You can’t stop anything from going where it has to go.”
