About This Book

Thirteen-year-old Bunker Charles awakens to find himself confronted by a man one inch tall who forces Bunker to take him down to the center of Otherland. These miniature Floogleboppers mine a precious substance called mangolite. The Bargolians are one foot tall and plan to steal the mangolite. Bunker was kidnaped to frighten the Bargolians. Bunker's friend, twelve-year-old Gittel, follows him underground but is captured by the Sorcerer of Bargolia. She is put under a spell and made their Bar-Queen. The Bargolians have the dreaded Bar-goyles to fight the Floogleboppers. It is Bunker against Gittel in the Great Flooglebopper War. Through skillful reasoning, Bunker brings the two countries together in a positive way, instead of through violence. When the evil sorcerer's crystal ball is broken, Gittel is herself once again. Bunker and Gittel return to the topside of Otherland and wonder if anyone will believe the mysterious adventures they have just experienced.
