About This Book

"Poor Baby Rhino gets so tired playing hide-and-seek that he counts himself to sleep in the soft grass. When he wakes up, his friends have gone and he cannot see his mama! Baby Rhino sets out to find Mama. He asks the quail, the whales, even the kangaroos if they have seen Mama. At each stop, the others ask him to stay with them, but he humorously tells them no, and the reader learns the name of the animals' group. Little Rhino tells the geese, ""No thanks, I better not straggle with the gaggle."" And to the elephants' invitation he responds, ""No, thanks,"" laughed Little Rhino. ""To walk with your herd is absurd."" Author-artist Patricia Eubank has created a delightful modern fable in a world of animals that is never scarey. At the end, all is well as Little Rhino finds his mama (who was never far away). As she hugs and cuddles him, she tells him he is now ""Just where you belong."""
