About This Book

BOOK SUMMARY JUD.US follows the life of a small-town Maine boy, straight out of school, and how his seeking a little adventure, through an enlistment in the Marines, introduced him to pre-war Vietnam. As a result of his friendly disposition, and small-town naivete, he survives the terror of a kidnapping, and spends a decade as a prisoner of the North Vietnamese, without ever tasting, or even being aware of, a war, from which he suffers, but in which he never actively participates. In his captivity, he finds his only freedom; and, in his eventual repatriation, a deep isolation from his very soul. The question which remains is . . . ..why? . . . What could he know that's dangerous to anyone?!!!!
