About This Book

For many years the author has wondered about John the Baptist, who makes an appearance at the time of his birth and then seems to be missing until the actual baptism of Jesus. Soon after that he is taken prisoner and dies in a Roman Prison. He was related to Jesus, but the Biblical record seems to have nothing else to say about him. He was also a Nazarite, and the only one found in New Testament times. He had loving parents, was related to the priestly servants of the temple yet the Biblical record tells very little about his life. The author has done as extensive research as is possible on the life of John. Every mention of John in the Biblical text is included along with other facets of his life that would be normal for the life of a Nazarite boy, becoming a man. We recognize that Jesus, being the Son of God, had an advantage of possible great pre-knowledge. John had to study and grow and find it out in the Bible, which of course is only the Old Testament of our time. Jesus recognizes how important John is in the few times that he talks about him, but Jesus' mission really moves ahead after John's mission has been completed. Welcome to John, No Greater Prophet, who has become a friend of the author.
