About This Book

JESUS WHO? is the story of four priests and how their individual concept of who Jesus of Nazareth was leads them along divergent moral paths despite the fact that they are all ordained members of the same orthodox tradition - the Roman Catholic Church. JESUS WHO? deals with a wide array of issues within the clergy itself, including mandatory celibacy and the discordant behavior it all too often engenders, the Vatican's unyielding refusal to ordain women, the painful dilemma in which gay priests oft times find themselves as guardians of a religious tradition that condemns homosexual acts. JESUS WHO? is neither a dark, brooding psychological melodrama nor a cold expose. On the contrary it is a respectful, balanced and spirited look at an ancient institution coming to grips with a world that little resembles that in which its founders lived. In the end JESUS WHO? is a grand weave of stories about ordinary people facing up to extraordinary situations some of which prove life giving, some comical, some deadly. The author studied for the priesthood after having served honorably in the United States Army Infantry. He has authored two books on the war in Vietnam - ON THE FAULT; and MYRMIDONS - Etchings of a Modern War. Both titles are available at Amazon.com.
