About This Book
Dave Gibbon has a job in a bank, a girl named Jacky, and a not-too-burning ambition to be a spare-time author. His was a routine life, simple and pleasant - and so it might have remained, had he not caught a glimpse of the tall, elegant, and mysteriously sad Mrs. Fawcett. She became an obsession with him. He haunted Kew Gardens where she sometimes came to walk. They were to meet only twice. He learned the nature of her sadness, but when he offered to help he was told, "The only service you will ever be able to do me will be--in the event of my death." Ten days later the lovely, enigmatic Mrs. Fawcett was dead, and Dave Gibbon was left a strange legacy that led him deep into an unfamiliar and inescapable web of intrigue.
