When Harlem Based detective Devil Barnett goes on holiday in sunny Brazil the last thing he expects is to be asked by his old ex-CIA colleague to do him the favour of putting the murdered body of his journalist brother safely on the plane back to the States.
The murdered body leads Devil to not only to a secret organization whose members keep turning up dead but also connects him to a mysterious poltergeist that people fear might be linked the dreaded black magic of "Macumba.". To his dismay Devil discovers that all these things are connected to the nasty and sordid reasons for the journalist's murder. Reasons which brings some vicious characters out into the open to make sure that Devil Barnett never leaves Brazil alive.
