A leisurely morning fishing trip on a crisp October morning turns stormy for Jon Burke and Duke Evenson. When they put in at Gills Rock they are accosted by some confrontational youths. The experience turns out to be an indicator of things to come. The youths, who are involved in the drug trade, are desperate for money and transportation to flee to Missouri.
