While at Meeting, Michael daydreams about fishing. Tomorrow they will start planting tubers and will probably be so busy that they won't be able to go fishing for at least a week – maybe two! Michael figures no one will notice if he just slips away. Stephen sees and joins along. Both boys know they should ask permission to leave, but neither wants to be denied. The hunting party sees them but assumes they have permission; so are they really fibbing by not telling the truth? Michael learns that every choice has a consequence.
