Kate Lyons grew up in the Yorkshire-Lincolnshire borders and only moved down to London after university. Married to architect Eric Lyons in the last months of the second world war, she brought up four children before returning to work as a teacher. Combining her passion for drama with her teaching career, she wrote and produced a series of plays in school. Later, she ran an out-of-hours drama group for children from her home. The plays are witty and entertaining, several bringing new twists to traditional stories. Their intended audience is not only young people, but also their parents and other adults.
