Egypt’s Reality TV Race is a treasure hunt with a twist. Middle Eastern television producers show up at a New York seminar on ancient Egypt looking for bored rich people eager to embark on any adventure. A half-dozen weekend academics soon jet off to the Land of the Pharaohs with credit cards in hand. The mystery unfolds at dusk with great theater, as camel cops scour the Pyramids Plateau in search of trouble, knowing most of it is the homegrown variety. As darkness envelops the naive contestants, some wonder what they’ve gotten themselves into, while others wonder how they can get themselves out of it. The cast has a blast as they hunt down clues inside the macabre world of Egyptian antiquities, unaware that savvy criminals are stalking them. Blinded by the dollar signs in their eyes, the Americans notice too late the trap that has been set for them inside the Islamic country.
