Diversionary Tactic

Agent Evans has been assigned to lead the FBI investigation into the anthrax scare following the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. At first, the trail leads to government laboratories at Fort Detrick, suggesting a terrorist presence within the ranks of our nation's own defense system. But soon Evans finds himself discarding theories of terrorist plots, and the investigative trail leads him to Colombia, the mafia, the drug trade—and to his own best friend and brother-in-law, Crawford Jackson. Crawford, whom everyone had given up for dead, is on the run from the law. To redeem himself, Crawford agrees to participate in an FBI sting so dangerous, it ultimately threatens the lives of everyone Agent Evans loves the most—including his wife, whom he must rescue after she is kidnaped in an attempt to intimidate Agent Evans into backing off of the investigation when he is closest to the truth.
