      Handsome Lt. Nicholas Chenevix, believing his beloved Madeleine to be dead at the hands of the French, returned to his royal Navy ship "Kite." While Napoleon's armies were gathering strength, Chenevix struggled to break the cipher of the secret message from a dead British agent.
