      It’s 1899, the eve of a new century, and Preston Elias Luthor, a young man who has suffered epileptic seizures since childhood, looks forward to a new and happy existence. His fits have subsided in puberty, and he has left Eden, Pennsylvania, and returned with a beautiful cantina-dancing girl as his wife. The newlyweds reside on the family estate, homesteaded a century and a half in the past by Luthor’s ancestors.
