Dear Younger Me: Wisdom for the Journey Ahead is a book for teen girls (ages 13-18). The book includes conversations about friendship, dating, self-esteem, and identity. It includes affirmations, lessons, and empowering stories for W.I.T (Women. In.Training). Every chapter discusses real life issues and complex situations that teens face in their every day lives. The author uses these chapter as the subtext to healthy dialogues, which take the difficulty out of tough conversations that most teens need to have with older women (as they seek advice and wisdom for the future). The author pulled from her own experiences, conversations with young women that she has mentored, and other professional women. The variety of influences and perspectives helps to better provide young women with simple solutions to complex situations. The book also includes space for thoughtful journal entries, reflections, and 21 days of positive affirmations. This book is perfect to share with books clubs, youth mentoring organizations, or as a way to open healthy dialogue between mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces.
