About This Book

DARE WE CALL THE QUESTION….SHALL WE SECEDE?

Like our Fathers before Us. . . .

Some of us are yet free people, free to think for ourselves, and free to speak about those things which we see alarming and foreboding for the future of our country, our future and the future of our children. Even more important is the fact that freedom and truth is in jeopardy in our country. It is one thing to think, and it is another thing to act.

America as we have known it is not the same country it once was, but it is in grave danger of becoming much worse. It is said that "evil abounds when good men (and women) remain silent. Never has that maxim been more relevant and true than at this moment in our history.

It is a fearful and dreadful thing to even contemplate the step "for one people to dissolve the political bands that have connected them to another." There is treason, war and other possible permutations to consider if we cannot turn this country back to a path of right and honorable conduct and fiscal sanity. Long before one reduces such thoughts of reformation (or possible succession if the reformation fails) to paper or some other method of transfer, or from one person to another one must prudently consider the consequences. It is with such consideration, no doubt, that our forefathers (including the signers of the Declaration of Independence) began their deliberations in their own minds long before they began to speak to each other, and long before the first and especially the second continental congress.

They tried for many years to address their grievances to the government of Britain. They tried envoys, ambassadors and negotiators. They tried what would be considered today, "bipartisan" solutions. With each passing day and year it became more and more evident that such a solution was not available to them. Reaching a mutually beneficial accord with someone unwilling to come in your direction was not possible then, nor is it possible now I suspect.

My examination of the history, tactics and "end game" of the LSPs/progressives (LSPs) over the last seventy years leads me to an inevitable conclusion: There is no making peace with them, there is no reaching an accord with them. It is either their way or the highway.

Shall we secede before it is too late to make any possible difference? Calling the question is a phrase that precipitates an action on an item on the agenda of a meeting after thorough discussion has been made. It presumes an organized assembly, duly called to order and operating under parliamentary procedures, which is what our First and Second Continental Congresses were. Sooner or later it is necessary to call the question in order decide the question and then set in motion subsequent actions. Dare we call the question? What would happen if we did? Dare we call the question? What will happen if we don't?
