Outwardly composed but inwardly thrilled, Susan boarded the plane at London Airport en route for a summer holiday in the breath-taking Jura Mountains on the Swiss-French border.

Instinctively she felt aware of the self-assured Frenchman who took the seat with such accomplished ease beside her. Partly it was the flair with which he took out his monogrammed cigarette-case. But mainly, Susan knew he was a man accustomed to the attention of lovely women. Now he was directing his magnetism on her. She could feel him willing her to look at him.
