      When Jim Diamond rode into Flagdale in the Arizona Territory he interrupted a brutal attack on a Mexican man and woman by a couple of VV ranch-hands. The unscrupulous owner of the VV, Jed Craven, was conducting a large-scale cattle-rustling operation and Jim's first encounter with Craven started a conflict which led him on a hazardous journey to the Mexican border.
