Reggie Torres has been in charge of the City of Orphans for years. She's kept everything under control, until the vampires start acting up. Reggie's oldest rival, Debienne, has set her sights on Reggie, and wants to wreck her. Silas Carter has been sent to Seattle, the dumping station for society's unwanted citizens, for his addiction to vampire bites. He hopes to get better there, but never expects the truth of Seattle, or Reggie. Her fiery spirit draws him in, and gives him hope where he previously had none.
