About This Book

Enzo Melina, along with millions of other immigrants, comes to America in the mid-1950s. Having worked in the coalfields of Europe and with little or no education, he seeks to find prosperity in his new land. After struggling for some years, he finds his calling in the construction industry. His status and power grow as he becomes involved with a powerful labor union and he seizes the opportunity to start his own family in the local mob scene. As the competition for a piece of the action increases and the stakes become much higher, the Melinas decide it's time to get out of the business. They soon find out that getting out is not so easy. The plot thickens as the Melinas wage war against other families and try to stay one step ahead of the FBI.
