About This Book

Scotland Yard in 1967 is riddled with corruption. It is also in need of an upgrade, according to the commissioner, Sir Mark Wright. He is determined to use every available technology the 1960s has to offer. Computers replace printed records, fresh new faces appear among the detectives, and the agency has a mission to sniff out any corruption in the force.

Detective Inspector Andy Spearing isn’t too happy about these new changes. Mark may be a personal friend, but Spearing has a specific way of doing things. He also isn’t fond of his new detective sergeant, Kevin Devlin. Devlin is one of the “trained brains” of the New Scotland Yard who shun tried and true detective work for the latest criminology techniques coming out of Quantico and Langley.

But Devlin will prove to be different from the other “trained brains.” When he and Spearing catch a case involving crooked MI5 agents, a mobster’s widow, and a mysterious assassin nicknamed “The Fox,” Devlin proves his worth. You can’t grow up on the mean streets of “The Gorbals” in Glasgow, Scotland, without knowing how to hold your own in a fight. Will it be enough to survive the war ahead of them both?
